Grow Your Garden HD is a math game for iPad that is teaching kids basic arithmetic.
Subtraction and addition are fun to learn while playing a game of growing flowers.
And how do you grow flowers on an iPad? And how is that going to teach children math? Easy, you start with level one.
First time you play some simple tutorials will teach you how to water the plants and how to refill the cans. After that you’re on your own.
Each flower needs a certain number of water drops in order to grow. It goes through 3 stages and although you have 12 levels you will actually play 36 games to fill your garden.
The higher the level, more complex puzzles to solve. Some cans cannot be moved and that adds complexity to the game.
Not all levels are a piece of cake and when you are wrong plants die, usually when you pour too much water. Not a nice view but this is how we learn, right?
And by the time you reach level 12 you are already an expert in solving arithmetic flower based puzzles. And you have a garden full of flowers. Maybe the next game will involve bees too?
If your kids love Dr. Seuss apps by Oceanhouse Media I am sure they will recognize the characters and the voice used in this beautiful game for iPhone, Lorax Garden.
What is Lorax? Well, Lorax is a deserted and polluted planet, with toxic air, no life and no hopes. All there’s left of it is one seed only, a Truffula tree seed.
Let’s start by saying some simple things: it’s a very engaging game for iPad (there is an iPhone/iPod touch version of it), it’s free and it’s about you helping bees gather pollen, grow their hive and make honey
World of Safari 123 is an educational app for iPad (there is a version of iPhone too) created to help preschool kids acquire basic math skills.
Because your kid will learn counting, adding and subtracting and will enjoy doing so with an application that mixes learning and playing with animals in a safari.
